Scholarship Art Sale

Spring 2024

For a school assignment, I designed a flyer for the annual IUSB Scholarship Art Sale. I was instructed to include the dates, times, and location in the flyer. It also needed to be printed on letter sized paper. The overall design was up to me. I decided on bright colors so the poster would stand out. I used simple vector art that I got from Adobe Stock and designed the flyer using Adobe InDesign. Since the size of the poster was limited, I created a border surrounding the orange background and placed the banner and vector art to make the layout more interesting.

Augmented Reality Poster

Spring 2024

As a school project, I was assigned to create a poster that included a QR code that linked to an animation. The animation had to relate to the poster creating an augmented reality. I decided on creating something involving hamsters because of my past pets. Creating the animation was a challenge because it was my first time ever creating one. I started by creating the poster in Adobe Illustrator. I then created a background for my animation in Adobe Illustrator. I used my hamster illustration and made multiple copies with it’s feet in different positions. Using Adobe Photoshop I looped the illustrations together. The final animation was created in Adobe After Effects. I brought in my background illustration and hamster loop then animated the hamster running across the field. I uploaded my animation to Vimeo, and created a QR code for it using Adobe Express. The final poster pictures a hamster running on his wheel while daydreaming of running through a field, which is seen in the animation.

Infograph

Fall 2021

This infographic was an assignment for school. I was told what size it should be and I was able to pick the subject. The objective of this project was to study color and create a harmonious color palette. My role was to research my topic, pick a color palette, and layout the material using a grid.

I chose a subject I was interested in and started researching. After I gathered my research, I created charts and graphs, using Adobe Illustrator, to display the information so that it could be easily understood. I found icons and vector art on Adobe Stock that related to my subject. I then created a bold harmonious color palette to catch the viewers attention and interest.

I proceeded to lay out the material in Adobe Illustrator using a hierarchical approach. I printed the final work on a small scale to confirm the color appearance in print. After small color adjustments, I printed the work in full size. The challenge of this assignment was creating the charts and graphs in Adobe Illustrator. There are limits on how you can enter information into the charts and I had to come up with a work around. The final work displays a bold and playful infographic that allows quick consumption of information.
